The Problem

Railway programmes are increasingly complex, with multiple suppliers, fragmented interfaces and competing priorities across safety, performance and delivery. Requirements are often unclear, poorly structured or not consistently verified, leading to rework, integration failure and delayed approvals. Assurance becomes reactive rather than controlled, and risk is discovered too late. 

At the same time, digital systems, software and cyber considerations are now central to railway delivery. Traditional approaches struggle to maintain traceability and alignment across thousands of requirements, interfaces and design artefacts. Without disciplined systems integration, programmes lose control, costs increase and confidence erodes.
